Why do we celebrate Steve Jobs?

I recently read an article from http://www.evolvingexcellence.com/blog/2011/10/a-tough-obituary-to-write.html that had an unconventional take on Steve Jobs and Apple.

I actually agree with the author of the article.  Steve Jobs found a way to increase the value of everyday objects to their users.  What he did not do was reshape the mold of classic cost accounting driven industry.  Apple has been a company that has lived off of producing cheaper components overseas and every two years drawing in the masses with a marginal upgrade in technology.

In an economy where companies either become lean and innovative or move overseas Apple did the latter.I can celebrate a man who is a game changer in technology or methodolgy.  I cannot celebrate an arrogant man who kept are populous addicted to beads and trinkets.
